Abuse Power and Control Wheel

Often centered around divorce, or a couple coming in for therapy, is an unseen cycle of abuse.

Power and Control Wheel using Children

Children are often the unseen victims of domestic violence, in that they are used as tools by one or both parent to gain power and control in a family, especially when child custody or divorce is occurring in the family system. This is trauma -- for the child, and for the parent often being in the position of fighting for their child's safety and normalcy. But there is nothing normal about this controlling cycle.
